Apply for Council Tax discount - Person in Detention

You may qualify for a discount on your council tax bill if a member of your household is currently in detention.

Important note: You will be asked to upload evidence from the Prison Authority to verify the detainee.

This can be a:

• stamped document
• signed letter

You can download our Person in Detention template and ask the Prison authority to verify the detainee, then upload it within this form.

If you have a paper version of the document, the quickest way to upload it as a digital file is to take a photo of it. You can take a photo on a mobile phone or tablet and upload it during the form.
