Apply for a Licence for Works
If you are an existing non-domestic tenant of Fife Council, use this form to request consent from Fife Council, as landlords, to erect/alter a building or other structure.
Allow 30-60 minutes to complete this form.
Applications must be submitted at least one month before the start date for the proposed work.
You will need to know the following information before starting this form:
- Address of land and/or building you wish to alter or undertake building work on
- Description of the proposed works
- Type of proposed works, for example, plumbing, electrical or both
- If a building warrant or planning permission is required to carry out any of the proposed works
- The timescale for the proposed works
You may be asked to upload sketches or scale drawings to illustrate the proposed:
- Building work
- Electrical work
- Gas installation work
- Plumbing work
- Mechanical work (including lifts and ventilation)
These drawings must include the following information:
- Address of the property
- Project name
- Drawing title
- Drawing number
- Date of drawing
- Scale (metric)
- Fully annotated with a specification
You may also be asked to upload:
- a copy of the constitution document and minutes from the meeting that adopted it (only for unincorporated associations)
- scale drawings and specifications that form part of a building warrant approval
- a copy of the Structural Engineers Registration Limited Scotland scheme (SER Scotland) certificate
- a copy of the manufacturer's data sheet or brochure
- a method statement explaining how the works are to be undertaken safely
Cost of application
The charge for this application will be assessed following its receipt which in most cases will be £500 excluding VAT, but could be more depending on the works proposed.
