Don’t panic! Incidents don’t happen very often. It’s still a good idea to think about what you would do if one affects you, your family or your community. We advise that you make sure you are prepared for any kind of incident. It could be an emergency, such as an evacuation from your home, or something expected, such as severe weather.

These kinds of incidents can disrupt our daily lives. We can’t always stop them from happening, but we can plan ahead to lessen the impact.

The following pages outline simple steps you can take to prepare for any incident.

Don’t wait for the unexpected to happen – prepare now! Once you are prepared, encourage your friends and neighbours to be too. A few minutes thinking about it now could make a big difference in keeping you and your family safe.
