Last Saturday (25 May 2024), the first-ever ‘Tree in the Park’ festival was held at Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline. It was a resounding success, drawing a large crowd.
From opening, the park buzzed with excitement as people of all ages flocked to participate in a wide array of engaging activities. There were exercise classes, guided walks, holistic therapy taster sessions, giant insects and much more.
At the Wellbeing Market, stallholders showcased their goods and services, offering everything from vegan street food to local jams and willow birdboxes to natural shampoo bars.
The event, organised by Fife Council, was the first wellbeing festival to be held in Dunfermline and was built around four key pillars:
- Physical wellbeing
- Mental wellbeing
- Environment
- Healthier lifestyles
Cllr James Calder, City of Dunfermline Area Committee Convener, expressed his delight at the event's success, stating; "The 'Tree in the Park' festival exceeded all expectations, bringing together our community in a celebration of health and wellbeing.
“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to making this event such a tremendous success. Your enthusiasm and support are truly appreciated."
