Work to resurface The Cross in Windygates will begin on Monday 16 September and last for around two weeks.
Cllr Altany Craik, roads spokesperson said: “We maintain over 2,400km of roads in Fife and we’re spending millions each year repairing and improving them. Our road network is vital to support economic development, inward investment, tourism, leisure and travel to work. Almost everyone in Fife uses our roads each day, which is why this type of maintenance work is essential.”
The works will be carried out in two phases. The first, from 16 to 20 September, will be from the recycling centre in Kennoway Road to Station Road and Leven Road in front of Rolland Buildings. During this phase Leven Road will be closed and access to Windygates and Kennoway will be from Milton Road only. Resident access will be maintained to the Leven Road area only.
The second phase, from 23 to 27 September, will be from the recycling centre in Kennoway Road to Station Road and Milton Road to west of Haughmill Lane. During this phase a section of Milton Road will be closed and access to Kennoway will be via Leven Road only. Resident access will be maintained when works permit.
The footpath beside the works will remain open and we’ll maintain access for emergency services.

The Leven Academy school bus service LA6 will be unaffected and will be escorted through the works each day. Notices will be placed at bus stops affected by the works indicating where the nearest bus stop is.
Cllr Craik concluded: “We apologise for any inconvenience and delay caused by these essential works, and we’ll try to keep any disturbance to a minimum. Your patience and co-operation during this time is appreciated.”
