Kelty walks and talks group

The Kelty Walks and Talks Group, a thriving community initiative, is thrilled to announce the celebration of its 2nd anniversary. The occasion was marked with a delightful gathering featuring cake and nibbles after their regular walk. Since its start in May 2022, the group has blossomed into a lively and welcoming community, dedicated to promoting health, wellbeing, and social connections through walking.

What began as monthly sessions quickly turned into bi-weekly walks due to the members' enthusiasm and enjoyment. This special anniversary celebrates two years of successful walks, friendship, and community spirit.

Cllr Alex Campbell, Area Committee Convener expressed his admiration for the group. "The Kelty Walks and Talks Group is a fantastic example of how local initiatives can boost health, wellbeing, and community ties. Their regular walks and community involvement are truly inspiring. I encourage everyone to join this wonderful group and experience the benefits for themselves."

Margaret Pollock, one of the Group Leaders, shared her story. "I joined the Kelty Walks and Talks Group to help me get out and about in the lead-up to my retirement. I enjoyed it so much that I became a group leader. The group is incredibly welcoming, and our walks are very informal. We explore various parts of the village, and we make sure our walks cater to all levels, so everyone can join in."

The group's inclusive and supportive atmosphere has played a huge part in its success. Their walks cover different areas of the village, offering something new each time and accommodating all abilities.

The Kelty Walks and Talks Group continues to thrive, attracting new members while keeping a loyal core of dedicated walkers. Their ongoing commitment to promoting physical and mental wellbeing and fostering a strong community remains at the heart of their mission.

As the group celebrates this milestone, they invite anyone interested in walking and enjoying nature to join them. Whether you're looking to improve your health, meet new people, or simply enjoy the beauty of Kelty, the group offers a welcoming, friendly and supportive environment for everyone.
