Parents in Lochgelly – we need your child's voice! What do your kids want from their community? More fun stuff to do? Different services? We want to know! The Lochgelly Community Development Team is hosting a series of fun sessions where your children can share their thoughts – and have a great time while doing it! These sessions will be held on Wednesday, 16th October at the Lochgelly Centre sports hall, and we need your child to come along to the session for their school or nursery.
This is an exciting opportunity for children to share their thoughts on the services they want to see in their community, while enjoying a range fun activities including. But It’s not just about giving their opinions – we’ve got loads of fun activities lined up too!
- Arts & Crafts – Colour in woodland animal masks, decorate owls, and create your own woodland window art!
- Board Games – Challenge your friends at Jenga, Snakes and Ladders, and other games.
- Face Painting (afternoon sessions) – Transform into your favourite character or animal with some face painting fun!
To give everyone a chance to get involved, different session times have been arranged for each local nursery and primary school pupils, so check yours for details.
Sessions times at Lochgelly Centre:
- Sunflower Nursery - 9.30am to 10.30am
- St Patrick's Primary - 11am to 12.30pm
- Lochgelly South Primary - 1pm to 2.30pm
- Lochgelly West Primary - 3pm to 4.30pm
Reminder: Make sure your child goes to the session at the school or nursery they attend!
We’re planning for the future of Lochgelly, and we need your child’s input. What they tell us will help shape the services and activities available in the area. It’s their chance to have a say – and it’s going to be fun too!
Cllr Alex Campbell, Cowdenbeath Area Convenor, says:"This is going to be a great day for the kids – with arts, crafts, games, and even face painting! But it’s also a chance for them to tell us what they want to see in Lochgelly in the future. Every idea matters, and we want to hear them all. Let’s make sure the kids of Lochgelly get what they want!"
If your child cannot attend, don’t worry, access to the survey is available online at www.fife.gov.uk/letstalklochgelly
Let’s make sure Lochgelly’s future is shaped by the voices that matter most – our kids!
