Fife council has launched its official WhatsApp channel allowing you to follow us to receive news, events and important service updates directly to your phone.
Why WhatsApp?
WhatsApp is one of the world’s most popular messaging platforms with 79% of the population across the UK using it.
A WhatsApp channel is a one-way broadcast platform that allows you to privately follow your preferred organisations and individuals to receive updates. Users can opt in or out at any time.
By adding a WhatsApp channel to our social media offering, customers can choose the best way that suits them to keep up to date with all the latest news, events and important service from us.
What can I expect to see?
Follow us to get the latest news, events and important service updates delivered straight to your phone.
Although WhatsApp channels are a one-way platform, you can respond using an emoji and share the message with friends and family you think might be interested.
What it isn’t
WhatsApp channels are different and separate to your chats in the app. Following our WhatsApp channel does not mean that we will feature in your list of personal chats, but instead our updates will appear in the updates tab in the app. Your profile name, photo and mobile phone number are kept hidden and secure, and not in view to us or other followers.
How can I join your WhatsApp channel?
Joining is super easy, just follow these simple steps:
- Scan the QR code or follow this link
- Once the channel opens, click ‘Follow’ in the top right
- Click the bell icon in the top right if you would like to turn on notifications, so you never miss an update
How else can I keep up to date?
Alongside our new WhatsApp channel, you can follow us on Facebook, Instagram, X and Tik Tok or you can check out our online news centre for the latest news round-up from across the Kingdom.
