Local residents, businesses, and organisations are being urged to contribute their ideas and identify sites for potential development as Fife Council begins preparations for its next Local Development Plan, Fife’s Place Plan.
Community councils, landowners and developers are encouraged to put forward ideas or sites they would like to be considered for inclusion in Fife's Place Plan. The call for sites and ideas portal is now open and the consultation will run for 14 weeks until noon on 24 February 2025. For full details and to submit proposals visit www.fife.gov.uk/FPP.
This initiative aims to gather input on how land across Fife might be used for purposes such as housing, employment, infrastructure, community spaces, and environmental projects.
Councillor Altany Craik, Fife Council’s Spokesperson for Finance, Economy & Strategic Planning, said: “We look forward to receiving your ideas for Fife’s future. This consultation is an invitation for individuals, communities, landowners, developers and other organisations to share ideas, identify development opportunities, and help us address key issues like housing, infrastructure, and community use.
“The call for sites will help us to update our evidence base of potentially suitable and available land for diverse purposes. As part of our commitment towards reducing our impact on the environment, we’re also looking for suggestions about land that’s suitable for nature recovery, biodiversity or carbon offsetting."
