General questions
Rolling road closures are short-term, moveable road closures designed to cause as little disruption as possible during major events.
For the UCI Men’s Elite Road Race, police motorcycles will be ahead of the riders stopping any traffic from entering the route to allow the race to pass.
Once through, the road will reopen. On the day of the event, there will be no access/egress between 09:45 and 11:00hrs.

Spectators should use public transport where possible or use the network of pedestrian footways and cycleways in the area.
Spectators attending the event will be unable to park along the route of the race. A tow-away zone will be in force during the event.

Information for businesses
The event is expected to draw large crowds of spectators to multiple areas along the route.
As the event will take place on a Sunday, local businesses may wish to adjust their usual opening hours to ensure they can accommodate spectators and attract trade from visitors on the day.
Businesses may also wish to promote the event to engage spectators. Digital toolkits have been developed to help businesses maximise the opportunity through a range of ready-to-use content.
