#GetHelpFife Community Roadshows coming to Cowdenbeath area

Cllr Alex Campbell

A series of Get help roadshows will be taking place in and around the Cowdenbeath area from the 24th October for anyone looking for a bit of advice or support on the cost of living, benefits and general well being. The roadshows are open to all, and will operate as drop-in sessions where anyone can come along and ask questions, get help and/or offer their own services to the community.

The roadshows will allow you to:

  • Get help with the cost of living
  • Get help with benefits
  • Get help with your well-being
  • Get info on what’s on in your local community, and:
  • Give help to others in your community

Working with a range of partners from health and social care and the third sector, Fife Council’s Cowdenbeath Area Welfare Support Team will be on hand to provide a whole range of friendly advice and support to all those who come along.

Chair of Cowdenbeath Area Committee, Cllr Alex Campbell said: “We have chosen to invest area funding into these roadshows because we know how important it is for people to get the right advice and support at the right time. Our welfare support officers are there to make sure people are accessing all the support and benefits they are entitled to.

“I’d encourage everyone to come along, especially those who  are currently working or aren’t claiming any benefits, as there may be other support which our officers can access for you. Right now we know there are people struggling to cope who have never had any financial issues before. As we face a second winter with the cost of living so high, more and more people will need a bit of support and I’d urge them to take it.”

The roadshows kick off  in Benarty on 24th October before moving on to Lochgelly, Cowdenbeath, Kelty, Cardenden,Hill of Beath, Crossgates and Lumphinnans.

We have bigger roles or smaller roles to suit whatever time or skills or interests you might have. It’s amazing what you get when you give your time to others.
