This article is more than 1 year old

Community Use has been buzzing over the Easter holidays with activities for children, families, and adults.  You could say the feedback has been ‘eggsellent’!  Community Use art classes

From family swimming, sport, and arts and crafts activities for £1, multi sports camps in partnership with Active Schools, and vocational training courses for adults, there is always plenty to do in our community facilities across Fife.

Fife Council’s Community Use team works hard throughout the year to ensure many of the halls, community centres and schools across the Kingdom are available for everyone to enjoy learning, leisure, life, and cultural events.  Together with amazing partners they deliver a fantastic programme of inclusive pursuits including physical activity & sport, performing arts, arts & crafts, cookery, modern languages, and vocational training. They also offer space for meetings, celebrations, and community events in both modern and historical buildings usually found in the heart of the Kingdom’s city, towns, and villages.

Community Use - SwimmingCouncillor Linda Erskine, Fife Council’s spokesperson for communities and leisure said: “Improving Fifers’ health and wellbeing is an important priority for the Council and our Community Use team work tirelessly to make sure there’s something available for everyone.

“The team has recently produced its plan which sets out its commitments to Fife’s communities over the next three years. Our team genuinely strives to improve wellbeing by putting people and their communities at the heart of what they do.

“I’d encourage anyone who’s looking to try something new or meet new people to have a look at what our Community Use team has to offer. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised!

Here's just a few of the lovely things people have said about us:

Local resident, Linzi Deighton who used Kelty Community Centre said: “I live in Kelty and was so grateful to have a local space for our recent baby shower party. The staff at Kelty Community Centre were really helpful and I cannot stress how much easier they made my day. They even helped me with setting up and decorating the room, which was a perfect space. The centre is clean, child friendly, and has great parking. I would most definitely book the centre again and recommend to others.”

Victoria White who coaches the Pittenweem Youth Football team at Waid said: "The team at Waid is incredibly professional and always on hand for any difficulties we might face. We use the facilities twice weekly and at adhoc times and the team go the extra mile to be helpful and accommodate our varying requests. The facilities are of a very high standard and it is a great asset for the whole local sports community to be able to use” Community Use - Waid Community Campus

And another customer who uses Queen Anne Community Use said: "I receive a discount with my Fifestyle card. With being a single parent on a low income I could never afford the price for music lessons without this discount and my daughter enjoys her drumming class”
