Levenmouth Area Committee awarded four local project funds from the Community Recovery Fund.

Levenmouth has £1.343million from the council’s Community Recovery Fund, which was set up to help recover from the pandemic and address the cost-of-living crisis.

The four projects receiving funding are:

  • Levenmouth Local Tourism Association - £75,000
This is to fund a tourism project manager post (£40,000) and development work (£35,000). The post is vital in preparing Levenmouth for the opportunities the rail link will bring to the area.
  • Leven Promenade - £50,000
Area Committee agreed to this contribution towards developing a design specification for Leven Promenade. Visioning work has already been carried out for this area – see the attached photos. This work was funded by the Levenmouth Reconnected Programme (LRP) small grants.
  • Corra Foundation - £19,000
Committee agreed to support the continuing employment of two officers employed by Corra in the Buckhaven and Methil areas. The posts will continue to focus on tackling poverty and community wealth building.
  • Police Scotland - £11,232
A three-month pilot will base a Police engagement officer at the Levenmouth Together Hub on Leven High Street. From this central location, the officer can deal with public concerns directly and from a local perspective.

Cllr Colin Davidson, Convenor of Levenmouth Area Committee said about the Community Recovery Fund: “This fund gives us a great opportunity to invest in projects, community groups and organisations that will help Levenmouth recover from the pandemic and current cost-of-living crisis.
“We want to build on the great things already happening in our area, making sure Levenmouth becomes a thriving place, where there are opportunities for everyone.”
