You will be able to book a free bulky uplift for household waste and recycling from Monday 3 April 2023.
The uplift will be on your first landfill collection date. All booking slots will be available on a first come, first served basis.
The free bulky uplift service is for people who cannot transport their items to a recycling centre, or for items that are too large to be taken and cannot be broken up and put into your appropriate recycling/landfill kerbside bins Visit: https://www.fife.gov.uk/bulkyuplift
What items can be picked up?
The list of items that can be uplifted remains the same from 3 April.
How many appointments can I make?
One booking per landfill collection is permitted to ensure a fair allocation of bookings across Fife. As the bulky uplifts will continue to be aligned with landfill collections, residents can make one booking during this timeframe.
Uplifts will be scheduled on a first come first served basis. 180 booking slots will be available Fife-wide daily, Monday to Friday.
We encourage residents to re-use or pass on items prior to considering a bulky uplift.
Can I get an uplift for Commercial Waste?
No, this service is purely for household/domestic waste. Please see our information on commercial waste.
What are my other options for disposing of large items?
1. Our bulky household item uplift service is for items that are too big to fit into a wheeled bin. We recommend that those who can, transport large items to one of our 11 recycling centres.
2. Reusing waste is better than recycling because it:
· saves the raw materials and energy needed to make a new one
· is one less item to transport
· can save you money.
Have you thought about how you can pass your unwanted item on?
Furniture reuse organisations such as Furniture Plus or Castle Furniture will collect reusable furniture items free of charge from your house and prepare them for reuse. Charity shops also take a wide range of goods for reuse and you can pass on and collect items for free from some online websites. Find out more: www.fife.gov.uk/reuse
