Over the next month, we’ll invest £450,000 improving the road network in North East Fife.
We’ll be carrying out carriageway resurfacing on A917 Balmashie to Boarhills from 22 August 2022 for approximately four weeks.
Cllr Altany Craik, Roads Spokesperson said: “We maintain over 2,400km of roads in Fife and we’re spending millions each year repairing and improving them.
“Our road network is vital to support economic development, inward investment, tourism, leisure and travel to work. Almost everyone in Fife uses our roads on a daily basis, which is why this type of maintenance work is so essential.”
Works will be carried out Monday to Friday, 8am to 3pm. The road will be closed during the works and a diversion route will be signposted.
We’ll maintain access for emergency services and residents.
During the works, the 95 bus service will not serve Boarhills or Kingsbarns. Alternative public transport arrangements will be available with information signs placed on the affected bus stops.
Alternative school transport arrangements will be put in place for Madras pupils travelling from Boarhills and Kingsbarns. School staff are liaising with parents/carers and anyone that has not been contacted should get in touch with the school as soon as possible.
Cllr Craik concluded: “We apologise for any inconvenience and delay caused by these essential works, and we’ll try to keep any disturbance to a minimum. Your patience and co-operation during this time is greatly appreciated.”
