Southern Manufacturing & Electronics, the UK’s most comprehensive annual industrial exhibition, is scheduled to take place in February next year. Three Fife-based businesses are signed up for the exhibition, and InvestFife is seeking more businesses to join the Fife companies to showcase the region’s offering.
Fife has a long history of being at the leading edge of manufacturing and engineering, and with the sector evolving all the time, combined with the challenges brought about by COVID-19, Southern Manufacturing & Electronics will offer local businesses the opportunity to meet, learn, develop and grow.
InvestFife is seeking manufacturing and electronics businesses to join the Fife representation to this key exhibition, which takes place from 8th to 10th February 2022. Through Fife Council’s Trade Development Programme, there is funding available to first time exhibitors to help with the cost of exhibiting.
To date, three Fife-based businesses have signed up, hoping to re-engage face-to-face with existing clients, as well as make new contacts, once safe to do so. Fife Fabrications, Eurospray and QPE have all secured exhibition space.
John Penman, Managing Director of Fife Fabrications, commented:
“We look forward to exhibiting at the 2022 Southern Manufacturing show. For over 15 years, FiFab has attended this show and year-on-year it has proved to be very successful in meeting new potential customers, many of which have grown into substantial accounts for FiFab. As we hopefully return to some normality post the COVID pandemic, we feel it’s very important to once again promote the services we can offer at FiFab.”
In 2019, when Fife businesses last attended Southern Manufacturing, the delegation secured 115 enquiries over the course of the two days.
Councillor Altany Craik, Convener - Economy, Tourism, Strategic Planning & Transportation Committee, said:
“Southern Manufacturing is a key exhibition for the manufacturing sector, as it brings together industry experts with the latest developments in industrial technology and engineering services. As the sector continues to evolve, it is a crucial event for Fife’s manufacturing businesses to attend.
“Fife Council’s Trade Development Programme can support with the organisation and co-ordination of space for businesses looking to exhibit at this three-day exhibition.”
