Council Tax Online Account FAQ

This should be in the email we sent you reminding you that we were changing to a new online account. On the email, it’s under the heading “To access your account you will need:”. Please check your email again and if you still don’t have this you can contact 03451 55 11 55. When you speak to an adviser please tell them you need your account number to sign up for an online account. Alternatively, you can send an email to benctax@fife.gov.uk .
Please check the number you have used is the same one on the email we sent you. If you still get this message, please call us on 03451 55 11 55 or email benctax@fife.gov.uk . Our advisers will check the information we hold on our system.
This is because the MyGovScot MyAccount is personal to you. If you click to view your bills you will see they should be in joint names. If your partner also wishes to have access to view these bills they will need to sign up to MyAccount with their own information. See our Navigation Guide if you need help with viewing your bills.
Please check your spam/junk email folder as occasionally an email provider may incorrectly mark this email as junk. If it is in your junk folder you will need to move it to your inbox to enable the activation link. If you have checked and cannot trace this email, please raise a new support request to the Improvement Service using this link https://www.fife.gov.uk/myaccounthelp and confirming your full name and date of birth so they can activate your account for you. Once you have signed up for a MyAccount why not sign up for a Council Tax online account, you’re already halfway there! It’s easy to sign up to enjoy the advantages offered by this. If you have any problems, this is also covered in our Navigation Guide.
No. We do not need you to do this specifically for Council Tax. Please register for a MyAccount in the normal way. If you have already started the process of registering for YOTI you may need to get your registration removed before you can proceed. You can report this issue by visiting mygovscot.org.
No. Please use the following link https://www.fife.gov.uk/counciltaxonlineaccount which will take you to the sign-in page. From there, you can sign in via YOTI and you will be taken to Fife Council’s Council Tax page.
