Kirkcaldy - Templehall Active Travel route

During 2021, engineers in Fife Council have been advancing design drawings for an active travel route along Templehall Avenue.

The route is designed to give better access for pedestrians and cyclists travelling to Victoria Hospital, in particular, either to work or as visitors. The first part of this route, from the hospital and along Hayfield Road, was installed during 2019/20. This route is now being extended from the toucan crossing on Hendry Road, along the length of Templehall Avenue, as show in this drawing. In addition to installing the active travel route, localised improvements will be made. This includes the renewal of seating areas, so you don't have to walk too far without a rest. It's hoped that this route will form part of a future network of local active and sustainable transport routes in the future.

The works have started and are expected to be completed by summer 2022 and will cost approx. £200,000. Resurfacing of the adjacent carriageway is also being scheduled.
