Burntisland Railway Station Active Travel links - Beacon Leisure Centre

Stage status: Construction

We are developing a route from Kirkbank Road, and a future proposal from the west end of the High Street to the station. This is in response to community requests to enhance active travel routes to the railway station.

We have completed Phase 1, from Kirkbank Road to the railway underpass at the Links. Phase 2, at the Beacon Leisure Centre, will start during autumn 2024. We will change existing paths south of the railway and build new sections of paths near Lammerlaws Road. The new route will help improve walking, wheeling and cycling conditions, leading to local amenities.

Proposed future phases will focus on the harbour area and west of the station, from High Street via Harbour Place.

Construction: Autumn 2024 until early 2025

Distance: 500m approx.

Approximate infrastructure investment: £50,000
