What's a Flexizone?
A FlexiZone is a large, rural area containing many villages, hamlets and farms. Travel is permitted anywhere within a FlexiZone or to/from the FlexiZone to some designated places out with the zone.
My village isn't included within a Flexizone - can I still travel with Go Flexi?
Unfortunately no. The FlexiZone zone boundaries are clearly defined; please see the detailed map. There are a few designated places out with the FlexiZones that you can travel to or from, and these are specific to each service.
What vehicles are used on Go Flexi services?
The Go Flexi are accessible vehicles operated by Moffat & Williamson, which display the Go-Flexi logo on the side of the bus.
Can I use my concession card on Go Flexi services?
Yes. The Scottish National Entitlement Card (MyFife) can be used.
Can I take a wheelchair or pram on board?
Yes, of course. When you book, please add this to the booking notes that you have a wheelchair or pram.
Can other people travel with me?
Yes. When you book on the app you can add extra passengers. If you book via telephone please tell the operator how many extra passengers are travelling with you. You can book an extra 9 passengers per journey. Remember, the taxibuses can only carry so many passengers at the one time and other people may have booked and be travelling on the same journey as you.
Why are there other people in the vehicle - I booked the journey for myself?
Go-Flexi services are on demand services – not taxis. You can’t ask to have an exclusive journey.
If someone else wants to travel at the same time as you, it makes sense to pick up other people on the way. In this way, time is saved, and more journeys can be provided.
Where do I get picked up and dropped off? Why won't the driver pick me up from my front door?
The driver will do their best to pick you up and drop you off from your chosen point, there may be locations where this isn't possible:
- when it's unsafe to stop
- when it's difficult to access
- when it's difficult to turn the vehicle
Please be understanding if you have to make a short walk to and from the vehicle.
Can I take my dog on the Go Flexi?
Yes, all well behaved dogs are welcome on the Go Flexi.
Do I always need to book before I travel?
Yes. The Go Flexi operates within a specified time period add link to dates/times– there’s no timetable. You must book your journey just like you would book a taxi. You can book one journey, a return trip or a few journeys at the same time.
When can I book?
You can book using the app or by calling, one week in advance and up to to one hour before you want to travel. You must book journeys – you cannot simply ask the Go Flexi driver to pick you up.
How do I pay
Cash and contactless payments can be taken on the bus.
How will I know if my journey has been accepted.
On the app journeys will be confirmed via email and a text message will send booking reminders.
What happens if I no-show for my booking?
Not showing up for your ride at the time allocated will delay the ride for other passengers and may mean they get to their destination late. We understand circumstances can change however we encourage passengers to cancel journey with as much notice as possible.
Can I cancel my booking?
A booking may be cancelled a minimum of two hours before the scheduled pick-up time.
I need help with the journey/App
Please contact our customer service team at enquiries@moffat-williamson.co.uk who will be able to help you with any issues relating to Go-Flexi.
Why can't we just have 'normal' bus services?
Most of the current FlexiZones previously had no buses or a very infrequent bus service. The cost of running a normal bus service is often excessive and the times and routes don't really suit everyone living throughout a vast, rural area.
The book and go system is an attempt to provide more journeys to more places, on a more regular basis and for more people.
