Privacy Notice
This Privacy Notice explains how we use the information that we collect about you.
In order to provide Fife Bus Services, it is necessary for us to collect and hold personal information about you. We use this information to allow us to book your transport ensuring we have the correct vehicle to meet your needs and fulfil our statutory duties.
The personal information we gather and use includes name, address, contact telephone number, date of birth, disability type, mobility aids, bus pass details and emergency contact details.
We gather your personal data directly from yourself during the registration process. This can also be obtained by a third party, someone who may be registering on your behalf or your emergency contact person.
Emergency contact details will only be used by us when we have difficulties contacting you or should you become ill whilst travelling with us. This is for safety reasons.
We may share your information with partner transport providers such as taxi operators who may also provide you with a trip.
In the event that we did not request and use this information then it would not be possible to provide you with a Fife Bus Service.
The Council will not keep your information for longer than is necessary. In some instances the law sets the length of time information has to be kept. The Council has a retention schedule which sets out how long we hold different types of information. The retention schedule can be found on our Privacy Policy page.
