Street naming and numbering is the statutory responsibility of local authorities and is carried out in conjunction with property developers, community groups and local councillors. For further information please see the Policy and Procedures document below.
We are governed by the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982, Section 97 and addressing complies to the British Standard (BS7666).

The following street naming and address registration services can be requested by filling in the forms below:
- Register addresses for new properties
- Add or change a property name
- Amend an existing address format (for example, if access to the property has changed to a different street)
- Request street name(s) for new housing developments
Charges for this service
There is a charge for the street naming and numbering service that reflects associated administration costs:

A charge of £80 will be incurred for development remixes which result in a change to previously issued address details or supplementary information (numbering layout plans, numbering schedules). Any different or additional addresses to those issued as the result of a remix will be charged at the rate above.
