An overpayment of Housing Benefit is when a payment is made, but there's no entitlement. An overpayment happens when there's no entitlement or a reduced entitlement on either the initial decision or a revised decision.
An overpayment can be recovered by taking money from ongoing entitlement to Housing Benefit, other qualifying Department for Work and Pensions benefits you may be in receipt of, or by an Invoice.
To dispute the overpayment, contact the Housing Benefit Assessment team on 03451 55 11 55.
To arrange repayment by instalments, please contact the Housing Benefit Overpayment Team on 03451 55 11 55 or email HBOP.Enquiries@fife.gov.uk
