Woodlands Family Nurture Centre
Woodlands Family Nurture Centre (formerly Woodlands Nursery) was involved in a major project to expand and refurbish the existing nursery building, which doubled the size of the previous facility and includes extensive external play areas. This was done as part of an ongoing programme of development and refurbishment of nursery facilities within Fife.
The work was undertaken to allow: the removal of old hutted accommodation from the grounds that facilitated a Family Support Unit. Instead, it would accommodate the nursery facility previously located within the Kirkland High School campus, and provide provision for 0-2 year children.
Property Services provided Architectural and Electrical design to the project, and Quantity Surveying Services (in partnership with Building Services),
The extension design and the refurbished existing building blend through selection of material and are sympathetic in scale to one another. The design maximises natural lighting levels and ventilation to ensure a pleasant spacious and safe environment for all users.
