Burntisland Primary School
The replacement Burntisland Primary School is part of the Building Fife’s Future Programme. The project was procured through HUB East Central Scotland Ltd with Architectural, Project Management, Cost Control and Clerk of Works Services being provided by Property Services.
The School is designed to accommodate 651 Primary and 160 Nursery pupils. The design comprises a central hub with three classroom wings radiating to the East, West and North. The Hub contains the large dining/assembly and sports halls, formal entrance, catering and library spaces. This approach delivers a compact school that minimises travel distances between activities and positively engages with the surrounding area. A Community football pitch is also being provided as part of the development.
Burntisland Primary will be a striking high quality design that inspires users to learn and is rooted in the community. The buildings and grounds will be welcoming safe and secure.
The project was completed in time for the new term in August 2014.
