Before you agree to a hosting arrangement, you should carefully consider what this means for you and your family. This guide covers areas to think about and may be of use: NACCOM Hosting Good Practice Guide: Part 1 - Key Considerations For Prospective Hosts
Some useful information is also available through the Reset Hosting toolkit, however please be aware some content may be more tailored towards England: Homes for Ukraine Sponsor Toolkit
Eligibility rules for Thank You payments changed on 1st October 2024 and apply to all new hosting/sponsor arrangements where Thank You payments are requested after 1st October 2024. The changes relate to family relationships existing, or forming, between sponsors and their guests. Thank You payments will not be provided, or become invalid, once a family relationship is formed. See the UK Government publications at the end of this page for more detailed information.
If you are a host/sponsor and have been matched with a Ukraine arrival through the Homes for Ukraine scheme:
- We will be made aware of pending sponsor arrangements when the visa application is submitted
- We will complete our Local Authority checks as quickly as possible but you must respond to our contact attempts. If you do not, this could affect the visa application
- There is a page with useful information on our Enhanced Disclosure process, including identification requirements. We encourage you to visit this page so can familiarise yourself with the process and find out what you will be asked to provide
- Don't initiate or organise your own Enhanced Disclosure check, we will contact you
- If your Ukraine arrival has arrived, or you have a confirmed date of arrival and we have not been in contact with you, please complete the Tell us about Homes for Ukraine Arrival form below and we will contact you as a priority
- Please see our FAQs page for more detailed information
- The host ‘thank you’ payments will only be issued once all checks have been completed satisfactorily. Please ensure you have read and understood the Thank You payment eligibility guidance
- We are arranging and carrying out initial visits with Ukraine arrivals to ensure they are settling in well and, if required, to provide other immediate help and support. We will stay in regular contact with you and your guests during your sponsorship
