Torryburn Primary School was built in 1910. It is a co-educational, non-denominational school serving the areas of Torryburn, Newmills and High Valleyfield. The nursery serves a much wider area and takes pupils from Torryburn, Newmills, Culross and Low Valleyfield. Torryburn is a rural school, situated in the village of Newmills with fields to the rear and Firth of Forth to the front.

The school is within easy walking distance of Torryburn and Newmills and is approximately one and a half miles from the village of High Valleyfield.

The playground is large and pupils have access to the public park at the rear of the school for games.
