Strathallan Primary School

At Strathallan Primary School and ELC our purpose is to provide a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment for all children. We have high expectations of all children and encourage them to show ambition and a “can do” approach to learning.

We expect a high standard of behaviour from all. By establishing positive, nurturing relationships with our children and families, any challenges can be resolved in partnership.

Where behaviour falls below expectations staff hold restorative conversations with children. These conversations support children to identify their emotions, body sensations, triggers and strategies to allow them to take the lead in the improvements in behaviour required.

We celebrate success in our school in a variety of ways. Children receive Special Mention Certificates at assemblies that are chosen by their class teacher for demonstrating our school values. We have an established house system where children receive house points for demonstrating our values. Children are also given sharing learning opportunities with the Headteacher.

We also celebrate our children’s wider achievements during our weekly “Strathallan Stars” with the Headteacher! Our children enjoy bringing in medals, trophies and certificates to share their achievements.

At Strathallan, we expect that all children wear their uniform each day which contributes to our sense of community.

We work with a range of partners to support children to receive their entitlement to a broad general education.

Our school was established in 2007 and is a PPP school building. All of our facilities are located on ground level and provides access for all.

The school has 13 classrooms, 2 ELC classes, Music Room, Nurture Room and various spaces including a community lounge, sensory rooms, quiet room and library. There is a large dinner hall and separate PE Hall with changing rooms. The partition between these rooms can be opened to create an amazing space for events.

Our ELC model is 39 weeks Term Time 09:00-15:00 offering the 1140 hours entitlement for our children. The nursery has its own enclosed outdoor space that children can access throughout their whole session.

Our playground is a large space, with a tarmac area containing painted playground games. There is a wooden trim trail and a sheltered quad area.

Catering services operate a daily breakfast club for our children. There is also an After School Club held within our community lounge every day.

School Uniform

At Strathallan Primary School, we believe that children should be proud to be part of the school. The wearing of our uniform helps us create a very positive ethos where everyone is part of our school community.

Our school colours are purple and silver. The uniform is a purple sweatshirt and a white/purple shirt/blouse or polo shirt. Our tie is purple and silver. Trouser/skirts/leggings are grey.

Our P7 pupils wear a purple/silver tartan style tie and have the opportunity to order a leavers hoodie in their final year.

On their PE day, children can wear an appropriate PE kit which includes t-shirt, shorts/joggers/leggings, gym shoes or trainers. Football tops are not to be worn as part of their PE kit.
