Dear Parent
We believe that all children from Nursery to Primary 7 should enjoy school. Strathallan Primary offers a welcoming, supportive environment where children are respected as individuals and encouraged to actively participate in the life of the school.
We have high expectations with regard to academic attainment, achievement and behaviour. Everyone is valued; children, teachers and all ancillary staff, who strive to offer our pupils opportunities to reach their full potential. We have very strong links with our parents who fully support the work of the school.
Strathallan Primary School offers a curriculum based on the four capacities linked to the Curriculum for Excellence and it is our aim that we will succeed in making your child: a successful learner, a confident individual, a responsible citizen, an effective contributor We are very proud of our pupils and we believe that we provide excellent opportunities for all our children, enabling them to play an important role within society in the future.
We are a health promoting school and we strive to embed the 4 capacities in context at Strathallan. We believe that achievements come from these, resulting in a happy learning community which provides challenge, involvement and enjoyment of learning. All pupils are involved in our Pupil Voice Groups.
Our Nursery is attached to the school and children have full use of our facilities. We have ante pre and pre school rooms within the nursery although all our children share facilities and areas within the nursery setting. They use the forest for outdoor learning opportunities. The nursery is an integral part of our school and initiatives are adapted / planned to involve nursery staff / children / parents.
The "pheasant" has been chosen by the children as our school mascot.
The school has been inspected by HMIe and was awarded outstanding grades of excellence in every category.
Yours sincerely
Drew Murray
