Message for Parents/Carers

Dear Parent

Welcome to St. Paul's School family.

We hope that this is the start of a successful journey through the education process for you and your child. The notes in this booklet will tell you about St Paul's.

St Paul's RC Primary is a happy school, where Christ is at the centre and our school values of love, respect and honesty are at the heart of all that we do. Every child in St Paul's is very important to us. We teach the children respect for self, for others and for our environment. We reinforce these teachings by promoting the Gospel Values of wisdom, justice, compassion and integrity. The Charter for Catholic Schools outlines the guiding principles of our mission here at St Paul’s.

Our curriculum is focused on enabling our children to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors. These are the four capacities in a "Curriculum for Excellence", which strives to bring life to learning and learning to life.

Our aim is that, through working in partnership, we can ensure that our children are given the opportunity to succeed, to achieve and to be encouraged to fulfil their potential.

About the school

School roll: 237

St Paul's Primary School was built in 1961 and is spacious and well maintained. We have a large hall, a separate gym, a library, a drama/music room and a computer suite in addition to the normal classrooms. The school grounds are extensive with large tarmac and grass areas. The school also has an area for a wildlife garden.

Pupils and adults who have mobility difficulties can access the school’s ground floor facilities including classrooms and toilets via the parking area and the ramp approach.

Daily Timetable

Morning: 9.00 a.m. - 12.35 a.m.
Interval: 10.40 a.m. - 10.55 a.m.
Lunch: 12.35 p.m. - 1.20 p.m.
Afternoon: 1.20 p.m. - 3.00 p.m.

School Uniform

St Paul's actively promotes the wearing of school uniform which has been chosen to be smart and comfortable and allows for an element of personal choice.

School uniform items are:

white shirt / blouse or red polo shirt with school logo
black or grey skirt or trousers
black sweatshirt with school logo or red / black / grey jumper or cardigan
school tie

Parents may order school sweatshirts, polo shirts, cardigans and fleeces online throughout the year.

Ties may be purchased from the school office.
