The school building is situated towards the south east of the town of Dunfermline. The catchment area lies on both sides of St Leonard's Street and stretches out on Netherton Broad Street and along to the housing development on the Limekilns Road.

The school was opened in 1902 and is a very traditional style with architectural features of the Victorian period.

There are seven classrooms, small breakout rooms, and a hall area in the main building, with the school office. Wheelchair access is available at both entrances of this building.

Our nursery building is situated in the school grounds. It was purpose built in 2002 and provides modern attractive accommodation. There is a large room to accommodate 35 children and there is wheelchair access.

In 2012 an additional building was created in the school grounds. It has two classrooms, toilets, changing rooms and a PE hall which also serves as our lunch hall.

St Leonard's is a nut-free school and nursery and we ask that children do not bring nut products or snacks that contain nuts. Children are encouraged to bring healthy snacks to school for tuck and to drink plenty of water daily.

The playground consists of a large hard surfaced area. There is a small garden area which was created as part of the centenary celebrations. Fundraising enabled us to develop the school grounds including the addition of an astroturf area.

• Morning: 9.00 a.m. - 12.35 p.m.
• Interval: 10.20 a.m. - 10.35 a.m. and 10.40a.m. - 10.55.am.
• Lunch: 12.35 p.m. - 1.20 p.m.
• Afternoon: 1.20 p.m. - 3.00 p.m.

Nursery Hours:

• 6-hour sessions 9.00 am until 3.00 pm, 5 days a week

School Uniform

Our school uniform consists of a red sweatshirt with school badge embroidered, a white shirt or poloshirt, grey/black trousers/skirt/pinafore, dark coloured footwear and a school tie. No denim trousers or hooded tops please.

We also have a red waterproof jacket with our badge embroidered.

Our Primary 7 children have a different senior tie which should be worn daily. This was designed by our previous Primary 7 pupils.

All items of uniform with the exception of school ties can be ordered direct from our supplier, details can be obtained from the school office. School ties can be purchased at any time at the office. We will also do a bulk school order prior to the new school term.
