Pitteuchar East Primary School

At Pitteuchar East Primary, we work to create a climate of mutual respect and openness. We want everyone to work together, to ensure our learners, staff and parents benefit from a culture which promotes self-esteem and recognises rights and responsibilities. Promoting a positive ethos is not simply a way to get children to work hard and behave well in school. It should also encourage children to be successful learners, responsible citizens, effective contributors and confident individuals, in school, out of school and throughout the rest of their lives. This should encourage children:

• To treat others with respect, kindness, fairness, courtesy and compassion.
• To treat their environment with respect.
• To be aware of the impact their actions have on other people, and on themselves
• To take responsibility for their own actions.
• To celebrate diversity and be respectful of people's differences.

We celebrate children's achievements, in and out of school, at our weekly assemblies.

Pitteuchar East Primary values its strong links with St Margaret's Church.

Good behaviour is celebrated at Pitteuchar East. Our Relationships Policy (which includes our anti-bullying and anti-racism stance) is available to view online. This policy was created by staff, pupils and parents. All staff have had 'Respect me' training and practice Restorative Approaches.

We value our role in the community and work with local agencies, our community centre, the local library and shops to support and extend our pupils' learning. We invite all our stakeholders to contribute to the work of our school, through parent volunteers, and our Parent Council and regularly invite parents/ families into the school to share their child's learning or to consult them on the work of the school.

Pupils and adults who have mobility difficulties can access the ground floor of the School. This booklet is available in large print, in Braille and on tape on request.

Morning: 9.00am-12.40pm (Interval: 10.40am-11.00am)
Lunch: 12.40 pm-1.25 pm
Afternoon: 1.25 pm - 3.05 pm

Nursery Hours

3-5 year-old places are Monday-Friday 9.00 am-3.00 pm
Under 3 places are agreed on an individual basis.

School Uniform

A navy sweatshirt and a red polo shirt with the school badge are available in all sizes from myclothing.com online. By ordering through this service, your child's uniform is delivered to you. The school also gets a small percentage of the profit for each uniform sold.

Enamel pin badges are also available from the school office, priced £1.50.

Almost all children now wear full school uniform, and there have been many positive comments from parents/ visitors to the school on this recent improvement. Wearing school uniform has a positive impact on behaviour and attitudes and promotes a sense of belonging amongst our learners. Children who take on roles as House Captains or Ambassadors are expected to wear full school uniform at all times.
