Newcastle Primary School, Muirfield Drive, Glenrothes, Fife, KY6 2PX
Newcastle Primary School is a caring and stimulating community where each child is highly valued. High expectations ensure that children are motivated to reach their individual goals in every area of school life. Pupils are encouraged to develop into confident individuals with regard to others and for their environment.
Newcastle Primary School is committed to keeping up to date in a fast and changing world. I believe we have a key responsibility to equip our young people to take a full place in this changing world where new ideas and technologies will daily create new challenges and opportunities. Young people of the future will need many different competencies: to be flexible, to be able to access new skills and knowledge, to take charge of their own learning, to work in teams, to cope with change, to be assertive and to make the best use of their potential.
We believe that in order continually to improve the quality of teaching and learning and raise the achievement of our pupils, all our members of staff are entitled to appropriate training and development opportunities.
There will always be an emphasis on close links between home and school and with our wider community. With this in mind I welcome you to take as full a role as you would wish in the life of our school.
I fully appreciate that this booklet may not be able to answer all your questions and I hope that if this is the case, you will not hesitate to contact the school and arrange for a personal visit. There is always an 'open door' at our school. As a staff you will find us extremely approachable.
Yours sincerely
Mrs Hazel Freeland
Headteacher
