Dear Parents/Carers,
Masterton Primary School serves the catchment in the East of Dunfermline and the surrounding area. The school was built in 2006 and provides bright and modern accommodation for pupils and staff. We currently have 410 pupils in 15 classes across the school.
At Masterton Primary School we aim to provide your children with a happy, stimulating and challenging environment in which their contribution to the school is valued.
We expect all our children to be kind and helpful to each other, to develop high self-esteem and self-discipline. We encourage children to enjoy their learning and playing together, to understand, respect and value the different cultures and backgrounds that enrich our school and its community.
We believe that we can best succeed in our aims when parents and the school work in close partnership. We encourage parental involvement in the school. We have the most important job of educating your children-enhancing their academic skills, their physical development, their personal and social development and in preparing them for the future. For our part, we will do all we can to ensure that your children receive a good
education.
As a parent or carer, you can ensure that your children get the maximum benefit from their education by involving yourself in and supporting their learning.
This handbook is intended to give you some information about the school. If you need any further information about anything, please contact the school office.
Finally, we hope that the time your children spend at Masterton Primary School will be a happy and rewarding experience.
Yours sincerely,
Stephen Humphries
Headmaster
