Lynburn Primary School

Our school motto is "Reach for the Stars" as we want all of our children to be all they can be.

The vision for our school is : Our School, Our Community, Our Learning, Our Future as we encourage children to take responsibility for all aspects of their school life.

Our core values are Respect, Resilience, Confidence and Kindness.

We value the learning our children bring to school and work in partnership with parents/carers and the wider community to celebrate success and achievement and to extend learning experiences for our children.

A range of staff freely gives their time and expertise to provide a number of extra-curricular activities to benefit our children at no cost to families.

Our pupils are given opportunities throughout their school career to develop skills for learning, work and life. We have a range of groups within the school including the Pupil Voice Group, ECO Committee, Digital Leaders and Aquarium Ambassadors who assume leadership and responsibility for aspects of the life and work of the school, taking account of the views of their peers.

Our House Points and Values VIP  provides motivation and encouragement for children throughout the school to make positive and safe choices gaining recognition for their house as well as individual rewards.

Our P7 Lynburn Leaders have a variety of responsibilities and leadership roles within the school.

Nursery roll: 100 including provision for up to 20 2-year-olds

Lynburn is a large primary school which serves the Abbeyview area of Dunfermline. The school currently has a roll of 449 children including the nursery and 14 classes.

We have 20 teachers which includes learning support staff. The school management team comprises 1 Headteacher and 3 Deputes.

A team of skilled Pupil Support Assistants, a School Support Assistant and Administrative staff greatly support the work of the school.  Our Pupil Equity funding allows us to employ a school counsellor and Family Support Worker.

Lynburn Primary School opened in 1961 and is a well-maintained building which has benefited from refurbishment over the years.

We have both tarmacked play areas and a large expanse of grass, including 2 trim trails.

Our ECO group - The Green Team is currently focusing on litter prevention in the playground, energy management and biodiversity. We regularly access our Community Garden in nearby Drum Road.

Pupils and adults who have mobility difficulties can access the ground floor of the school which includes class areas, toilet facilities, the dining hall and the library.

• Morning : 9.00am - 12.35pm
• Afternoon: 1.20pm - 3.00pm
• Interval: 10.20am - 10.35am or 10.40am - 10.55am

Nursery Hours: 

• We offer 39 week term time 9.00am - 3.00pm for all children

School Uniform

School sweatshirts, cardigans, fleeces, reversible jackets, caps, polo shirts, gym bags and school book bags are available from My Clothing online. Ties are available from the school office at a cost of £4. Nursery items of clothing are also available from My Clothing online.
