Kennoway Primary School

Our success in Kennoway comes from consistently aiming high and providing a supportive ethos of achievement. We provide rich learning environments which promote values and celebrate creativity. We promote good quality teaching and strive to support pupils to feel good about themselves and develop the self esteem needed to ensure progress. Strategies are in place to promote and support good behaviour, respect and pride in school: These include Nurturing Approaches, Self Regulation, Pupil Council, Peer Mediators, Rights Respecting School Reps and Health Promoting Schools Accreditation.

Pupils 

The children in Kennoway are given many opportunities to share their work, skills and talents throughout the year in a variety of contexts. Success is celebrated at classroom, department and whole school level. Our goal is for children to experience the internal reward which comes from achievement and a job well done.

Parents and Carers 

Kennoway is a community school and parents are regular visitors. Over the years a strong partnership has been built and parents support our activities in a whole host of ways. We believe that parents have a key role in developing and informing school values and must be active partners in the education of children within the school community. The Parent Council and the Friends of Kennoway group are actively involved in the formulation of the school's vision and values. Parents are kept informed by newsletter, school website and invitations to assemblies and events in the school.

The Wider Community

There are various groups including parenting groups and toddlers groups held during school day. In the evening, there are many clubs and groups who use the facilities and offer a rich source of support to the ethos of the school.

In February 2007 we moved into our wonderful new school building. This new school meets all the requirements for delivery of a Curriculum for Excellence and provides a learning environment fit for the 21st century.

Our children have the opportunity to grow, play, socialise and learn in a bright, clean, healthy environment.

The school building serves five main functions:

1. Main Stream Primary School - Roll 409
2. Nursery Roll 90 and 30 in Early Entrants
3. Levenmouth Pupil Support Centre (supports children & schools in east of Fife)
4. KENNOWAY OUT OF SCHOOL CLUB run by Fife Childcare and Early Services.
5. Kennoway Centre - Community Use Open 6 days/week

There is a drop-off point for parents bringing children by car, and parking for nursery parents.

There are also parking bays for parents who are transporting children with disability. The school is completely wheelchair accessible.

• Lunch - 12.15 - 1.00pm & 12.45pm - 1.30pm
• Finish - 3.00pm

Nursery Children - Main Nursery 9.00am - 3.00pm

Nursery Children - 2-year-old room 8.00am - 12.40pm and 1.20pm - 6.00pm

School Uniform

It is expected that all children come to school wearing school uniform. Kennoway School Uniform comprises the following items of clothing. School shirt or blouse and tie, black sweatshirt, black cardigan, school polo shirt or white polo shirt, grey or black trousers or skirt, waterproof and fleeced lined jackets with the school badge. Children are required to change into indoor shoes in the classroom. Uniform can be bought from Alan Santry Schoolwear.
