Falkland Primary School was built in 1967. It is the only Primary School in Falkland and also serves the village of Newton of Falkland and the surrounding area. The main building consists of 5 classrooms, assembly hall and dining hall. There is also a staff room and separate offices for the Headteacher and Administration staff. The hutted accommodation in the school grounds houses the Nursery and an open plan classroom area. Both these huts have integral toilets and cloakrooms. There is a tarmac playground to the rear of the school and gardens to the front and sides. The children are involved in planning and maintaining our gardens. There is also a large field at the rear of the grounds which is used frequently by our pupils in a wide variety of ways.

School Uniform

At Falkland Primary we believe that children should be proud to be part of the school. The wearing of our uniform helps us create a very positive ethos where everyone is part of our school community. It gives children a sense of belonging and avoids arguments at home about what they may or may not wear to school.  The uniform consists of a green school sweatshirt, white or green polo shirt, grey/black skirt or trousers and black school shoes. Sweatshirts can be ordered from the school's uniform supplier (ask the school office for more details).

On PE days the children are asked to wear PE clothes to school, shorts/joggers and t-short/sweatshirt and trainers. Outdoor Learning days take place weekly.

Parents would be informed through our weekly update if the children are heading to the local forests, steams, hill etc and then outdoor wear is needed.

Children should come to school wearing their outdoor gear - joggers, t-short, jumper, jacket, wellies/walking boots, hat/scarf,/gloves etc. Indoor shoes are required, either slippers, gym shoes or other and every child is asked to have a water bottle.
