At Denbeath Primary School, we strive to promote our learner’s sense of responsibility and independence by providing engaging learning opportunities and experiences that offer learners elements of challenge to develop their resilience skills.

We strive to Develop the Young Workforce and support learner’s knowledge & understanding about skills they are developing for their future.

Ready, Respectful, Safe

Achievements of learners in school are regularly celebrated.   This can be at the Weekly Assembly celebrating or on a daily basis through the House Points system.  Learners are also awarded Rights Respecting Certificates too.

Out of school achievements are also recognised and are displayed in school.   Opportunities are provided throughout the year for learners to share and to show off their learning through family engagement sessions.

Positive behaviour is encouraged and praised constantly throughout the day by ALL adults and celebrated through Instant Recognition boards within Classrooms.

House Points are collected and celebrated during assembly with ‘House Huddle’ activities throughout the school session and House Treat awards for the winning House Learners too.

We have high expectations of ALL learners and strive to ensure that they realise their potential as they learn and grow at Denbeath.

Developing strong links through a variety of community partnerships has been really important to us as Covid-19 Restrictions have lifted and we will continue to do so moving forward.

The school itself, first built in 1908, has been completely renovated and modernised. There are separate playgrounds for P1 - 3 and P4 - 7 and the extensive playing field, situated directly behind the school can be used all year round during intervals and lunchtimes by P4-7 pupils, weather permitting and for class games and sports.

The entrances are accessible to pupils and adults who have mobility difficulties. There are also disabled toilet facilities.

The school celebrated the centenary in September 2008.

The school building comprises 7 classrooms (P1-7), a dining hall area, a gym hall, an office block, an Enhanced Nurture Classroom, Learning/CPD base. The ICT suite and library are situated in the open-plan area.

Morning:                9.00 am

Lunch:                    12.35 pm (we operate a staggered lunch break for P1 – 3 pupils to support their social skills, which decreases over time)

Afternoon:              3.00 pm

Interval:                  10.30 am or 10.40pm – we operate a staggered break.

Morning Session:    9.00 am - 12.35 pm

Afternoon Session: 1.25 pm - 3.00 pm

School Uniform

The wearing of school uniform is very much encouraged within Denbeath and comprises a black or red sweatshirt, jumper or cardigan, white polo shirt/shirt, black trousers, skirt or dress. Uniform with the school logo and ties can be purchased online at Brigade Clothing.

We will have a ‘Good Quality Preowned School uniform’, shoes, gym clothing, school bags and jackets. This will be available for purchase from the start of the term.
