We celebrate achievements, in and out of school, on a weekly basis at our whole school Achievement Assemblies. Achievements are displayed for all to see on our achievement board in the school hall. We track our wider achievements and achievements in learning on our individual profiles.

We are an important part of the local community and have many links with our local and surrounding area. We work closely with our Parent Council and Fundraising Committee, The Culross Burns Society, and have links with the Community Council, Culross Abbey, and local
businesses.

As an ECO and Health Promoting school our pupils have a sound understanding of the need to be global citizens and effective contributors within their local community. In line with Fife's policy we use restorative approaches when managing pupil behaviour. Our children and staff work together through our Rights Respecting Schools Class Charter to ensure we are 'Ready', 'Respectful' and 'Safe'.

The school, set in the historic village of Culross, is a two-storey building. There is disabled access to the downstairs area, which has two classrooms (Primary 1-3 class and Primary 6/7 class) toilets, a staff room, a small multipurpose room used by support staff, a main hall, a library area and offices.

Upstairs there are two classrooms, toilets and a library area. One of these classrooms is used for Primary 4/5 class, the other is our Confucius Classroom which opened in February 2018. As part of our Eco-School initiatives we have improved our playground by developing a wildlife garden, creating an outdoor classroom area and purchasing new playground equipment. To the rear of the school, there is a playground which is partly tarmacked and partly grassed, with a small garden area. We pride ourselves in being an Eco-friendly school. A cycle path runs along the back of the school and we encourage children and parents/carers to enter the school via this path. Some children cycle to school, we have upgraded our bicycle stands and are now accredited as a cycle-friendly school.

Interval: 10.55am - 11.10am

Lunch: 12.50pm - 1.35pm

Afternoon: 1.35pm - 3.15pm

School Uniform

We encourage all pupils to wear the School Uniform as we believe it looks smart, is practical, reduces 'dress code competition' and is economical.

School ties and book bags can be purchased from the school office, or alternatively these and the rest of the school uniform can be purchased direct from our supplier, Border Embroideries: https://www.border-embroideries.co.uk/schools/culross-primary.html

The uniform comprises a red or black sweatshirt, white polo shirt, black or grey trousers - skirt or pinafore. The school tie is black and red and is usually worn with a white shirt. Red fleeces can also be purchased.

On PE days children now come to school dressed in outdoor PE kits appropriate for the weather to maximise learning time. PE sometimes takes place indoors so we ask for a change of clothes on these days.
