Dear Parent
Thank you for showing interest in enrolling your child as a pupil of Cairneyhill Primary and Community School. Cairneyhill Primary and Community School serves families from the village of Cairneyhill which is to the west of Dunfermline. Opened in 1981, the school provides both nursery and mainstream primary education. The role at present is approximately 220 with a 64 placement nursery with currently 38 children attending. The school is also a designated provision centre for pupils with complex additional support needs. Additionally a programme of leisure, recreational and educational activities is on offer to the school community. An out of school childcare scheme run by Fife Child Care Strategy, operates in the School Hut during school terms and holidays, to support working parents.
The whole school community has a shared vision of being a positive, inclusive school which encourages achievement, attainment and expectations creating a basis for participation in lifelong learning. The school also strives to provide a pleasant, welcome, safe and secure environment.
Pupils and staff enjoy and benefit from strong links with the school community. We value and seek the support of parents as partners in their child's education and make every effort to ensure they are fully aware of and involved in every stage of their child's progress.
Both Parent Council and Pupil Council support the work of the school in focussing on its commitment to self-evaluation and improvement.
If you wish further information about the work of the school, please contact the school office to arrange for a visit and a personal interview. We will be happy to meet with you.
Yours sincerely
Fiona Hall
Headteacher
