The starting point for learning in our school is a positive ethos and climate of respect and trust based upon shared values across our school community.

In our School we aim to:

We are committed to recognising our children's good behaviour and achievements and celebrate their successes at our weekly assemblies. All pupils belong to a House and work hard to earn House Points which are totalled weekly and the results are again celebrated at our weekly assemblies. We have strong links with the local community.

Auchtermuchty Primary School is on one level with full access for people with disabilities. We have very good outdoor facilities with a tarmac playground and a large field and small. Woodland area to the rear of the school.

The original building dates from 1905 and has benefited from an extensive and sympathetic refurbishment programme. The classes in the original building have all been upgraded and modernised and a new classroom and kitchen wing added.

The latest and final phase included a new administrative block consisting of a reception area, administration office, Headteacher office, medical room, staffroom, Janitors room and toilets. There are two hutted classrooms, which are presently used as classrooms for P7 and P6. We have a large airy hall where the children enjoy PE, Drama and our weekly assemblies.

Over lunch time the hall becomes a pleasant dining room. We benefit from healthy and nutritious meals which are cooked on the premises. The children enjoy their playtimes on the tarmac playground and on the large field to the back of the school building.

We have developed the top part of the field into our own woodland and wildlife garden, orchard and outdoor learning area. This is also where our nursery garden "Stepping Stones" is sited. The school Eco committee, Pupil Council and Parent Council. (Supporters of Auchtermuchty School) are very much involved with the development of our outdoor play areas.

School Uniform

We encourage all our children to dress smartly in school uniform in our school colours of maroon and gold.

Boys - white shirt and school tie or white or gold polo shirt, maroon sweatshirt, jumper, grey or black trousers.

Girls - white blouse and school tie or white or gold polo shirt, maroon sweatshirt, jumper or cardigan, black or grey skirt/pinafore or trousers. In the summer children may wear a red and white checked/striped summer dress.
