We have achieved our Rights Respecting School's Award. Staff and children have agreed a class charter which promotes the United Nations Conventions on the rights of the child.

Aims

As a whole school we work with our partners to raise attainment, promote achievement, ensure inclusion and improve our school and local environment.

Our school was opened in 1912 and until the 1960s was a combined Primary and Secondary School. The design of the school is distinctive having four corridor wings radiating from a central circular hall. The extensive woodwork was restored to its original state during the 80s. Presently there are eleven classes in the school.

The classrooms are traditional in design with the exception of a large team-teaching area which is presently used as our Learning Support/Pupil Support Assistant Base. In addition to the classrooms we have a main hall, gym hall, an I.C.T. suite, outdoor learning area and a library. The dinner hall is modern in concept yet blends in with the original architecture of the school. “Abbie’s Bistro” provides us with excellent meals and the facility of an additional hall for P.E., games, functions etc.

We have a large outdoor garden which the children, as part of an Eco project, regenerated and painted the outdoor pots for planting out. We have worked to improve our school grounds. Part of the playground has been resurfaced and games painted on for children's play activities. Goalposts have been replaced, and a bicycle shelter has been erected.

Morning P1 - P7: 9.00am - 12.35pm

Lunch P1 - P7: 12.35pm - 1.20pm

Afternoon P1 - P7: 1.20pm - 3.00pm

Interval All Pupils: 10.40am - 10.55am

School Uniform

School Uniform can be purchased from the Alan Santry website: https://www.alansantry.co.uk 

The School Uniform consists of Royal Blue Fleece or Sweatshirt, Gold Polo Shirt all with the embroidered School Badge, Grey or Black Trousers or Skirt.

For Gym Days T-Shirt, Shorts, Gym or Training Shoes.

No Jewellery to be worn on Gym Days.

No Football Tops are allowed for normal school activities.
