About Letham Glen, Leven
Area: 22 acres / 9 hectares
Letham Glen is a large area of publicly accessible greenspace along a burn. The site stretches from north to south from Windygates Road to the North East corner of Leven. The site is a wooded valley with path routes either side of the burn (with bridges) providing access from the adjacent residential areas and to the wider countryside path network.
The southern part of the site is formal gardens with bedding displays, sunken garden, benches and paths. There is a pond and dove cot with elaborate decorative walling. There is an arched stone entrance at the southern end, with public toilets and a car park.
Park History
Letham Glen is named after John Letham, the retired farmer who gifted money to Leven Town Council in 1925 to help secure the park for the community. His gift of £1000 was invested so that the interest could be put towards the annual feu-duty.
