Throughout times of extreme weather, we want to make sure that residents and visitors know what to do to stay safe.
On this site, you will find helpful information and answers to some of your questions about preparing for severe weather and how the Council will respond during this time.
Don't feel isolated when severe weather hits. There are plenty of ways for you to get the latest information on council services and disruptions.
You can plan ahead by staying informed – and there are some really easy ways to do that:
- Visit our closures and disruptions page to find out about school or facility closures and disruptions to our services such as repair services, bin collections etc
- The most efficient way for schools to inform parents of any closure is through their Groupcall text message and email service. Please make sure that your school has up-to-date contact details from you. Headteachers will make the decision as early as possible on the night before or the day of the closure and will contact you once this is confirmed. Messages from Groupcall will be automatically sent to your mobile phone and/or email account.
- During severe weather we will share updates on our news centre, on Facebook. You can follow Fife Council on the Facebook link below to receive updates directly to your mobile phone or computer.
- Tune in to your local radio stations: Kingdom FM (95.2 & 96.1), Forth One (97.3) and Tay FM (96.4 &102.8) will have all the latest updates
