The Property Flood Resilience Grant (PFRG) scheme
The scheme will assist private homeowners or business owners to improve the flood resilience of their property and reduce the impacts of flooding.
Householders and businesses can claim up to £5,000 per property to fund measures which improve their flood resilience.
The Process
- Complete and submit your application form
- We will assess your application, notify, and request for supporting information
- We will assess your supporting information to determine the level of grant funding and issue terms and conditions
- You must return signed terms and conditions
- Grant approved and payment issued
- The council will then inspect works upon completion
What supporting information will I need?
- Evidence that your property has experienced flooding or is at risk of flooding (pictures)
- Read the Scottish Flood Forum 'Flood Protection Guide' and complete the Scottish Flood Forum Property Protection Advice form (online). Alternatively, you can contact the Scottish Flood Forum for assistance
- Consider any planning conditions (Conservation Area and Listed Building) noted in the links at the top of this page
- Get a works quotation (Contractors quotation or material costs, if you wish to install yourself)
- Estimated completion date to complete the works

Applications can also be collected at Customer Service Centres.
Assistance can also be given by phoning 03451 55 00 11 and selecting option 4.
