NPLQ National Pool Lifeguard Qualification

The Pool lifeguard award is a nationally recognised qualification that all Pool Lifeguards are required to hold in order to gain Lifeguarding employment.
The components of the course include the following:-
UNIT 1 - The Principles of Lifesaving and swimming Pool Supervision
UNIT 2 - The Application of Supervision and Rescue in a Swimming Pool
This course costs £220.00 and is approved for Individual Learning Account (ILA) funding. Through Skills Development Scotland, you may be eligible to apply for an Individual Learning Account giving you up to £200 to spend on learning or training. ILAs are for people who are 16 or over and living in Scotland. You must have an income of £22,000 a year or less, or be on benefits to be eligible.
If you are not in education, do not have a degree or above and are not taking part in a National Training Programme (Modern Apprenticeship, Get Ready for Work or Training for Work) you can apply for an ILA. The NPLQ Course has been recently updated to provide students with Version 8 of the qualification.
