BUILDING
Valley school was opened in 1952 and was the first school built in Kirkcaldy after the Second World War. The main entrance and car park lead off Valley Gardens and you can also enter on foot from Cheviot Road. The classrooms are on two levels in the main building with a corridor to the single floor infant wing. There is a nursery building at Valley School with a morning session and an afternoon session, each with 40 pupils, catering for the needs of local three year olds as well as four year olds. In 1998, a new Department of Special Education was opened in the school catering for the needs of pupils with moderate and severe learning difficulties. There is generous grass and tarmac playing areas all round the building for games activities. There is an assembly hall with fully equipped stage, a separate gymnasium and the self-contained kitchen is attached to the main building.
